Drone Site Surveys

Fly the site. Design the roof that is actually there.

Upload one drone flight and Powerlily reconstructs the property as a current orthophoto and a measured 3D surface. Apply both to the existing project and carry that site truth into design, proposals and permits.

Included with Powerlily Pro · GPS-tagged photos or DJI video + SRT

Flight to final design

One capture becomes project truth.

Remote imagery can start the conversation. A current drone survey gives the final design the measured roof, obstructions and site context it needs without creating a separate photogrammetry workflow.

01

Capture

Use the flight workflow your team can repeat.

Powerlily accepts practical field capture instead of requiring a proprietary aircraft, camera or desktop processing station.

A current visit Capture the property once, with the final design in mind.
  1. 01.01

    GPS-tagged photo sets

Fly an overlapping grid or orbit and upload the geotagged originals as loose files, a folder selection or one zip archive.

  2. 01.02

    DJI video + SRT

Record a smooth supported DJI flight with telemetry enabled, then upload the matching video and SRT pair for frame extraction and positioning.

  3. 01.03

    One purposeful site visit

Capture the roof, additions, trees, setbacks and obstructions as they exist today instead of relying on the date of third-party imagery.

  4. 01.04

    No proprietary capture stack

Use supported equipment and a browser upload. The field team does not need to run a separate reconstruction workstation.

  5. 01.05

The original flight stays with the job

Keep the source capture attached to the customer project so designers and operations can return to the evidence later.

02

Reconstruct

Receive imagery and elevation built for measurement.

Cloud processing turns the flight into two complementary site assets and returns them to the project when they are ready.

Orthophoto and model A visual reconstruction of the property as captured.
Measured elevation Centimetre-scale surface data reveals the roof geometry.
  1. 02.01

    A current orthophoto

Receive a corrected top-down site image at approximately ~2 cm resolution for tracing roof edges, property context and visible obstructions.

  2. 02.02

    A measured 3D surface

Receive an elevation surface at approximately ~3 cm resolution for roof planes, pitch, ridges, height changes and obstruction geometry.

  3. 02.03

    20–90 min typical processing

The reconstruction runs in the cloud. Timing varies with the flight, and the team is notified when the result is ready to inspect.

  4. 02.04

    Two layers, one coordinate system

Imagery and elevation align to the same site so visual edges and measured surface geometry can be interpreted together.

  5. 02.05

A result that can be reviewed

Inspect the output before applying it. The reconstructed surface is evidence for the designer, not an opaque automatic replacement for judgment.

03

Design

Design on the survey, inside the same project.

The reconstruction matters because it becomes an input to Powerlily's complete design and delivery workflow rather than a disconnected file export.

The survey becomes design input Measured site context stays connected to engineering and sale.
  1. 03.01

Apply the surface to the existing project

Move from the early remote layout to the current survey without rebuilding the customer, quote or downstream workflow.

  2. 03.02

    Resolve the final roof geometry

Use current ridges, planes, pitch, obstructions and surrounding site context to refine the layout before engineering and installation.

  3. 03.03

    Keep production connected

Panel placement, shade and hourly production respond to the updated site model in the same 3D workspace.

  4. 03.04

    Carry site truth downstream

The accepted design continues into proposals, single-line diagrams, permit plan sets and field handoff instead of being redrawn between systems.

  5. 03.05

Remote first. Onsite when it matters.

Sell quickly with available imagery, then use a targeted survey to ground the final system in what the crew will actually encounter.

Capture once. Design on what is there.

Bring a current drone survey into the same Powerlily project your team already uses.
